Ladies, welcome to your space for real talk about tyres, car safety, and everything you need to drive with confidence. No jargon. No mansplaining. Just straight-up knowledge, tips, and tools (minus the boring stuff) – done with style, grace, and sometimes a little attitude!
“In the world of tyres, women aren’t just part of the story – we can drive it.” –
“Confidence is knowing the road may twist, but you’ll take every turn.” –
Tiger Wheel & Tyre is putting women in the driver’s seat when it comes to tyre knowledge with the launch of Girl, Get a Grip – a safe, sassy, and no-nonsense space for women to learn everything they need to know about vehicle safety, starting with the basics: Tyre Care 101.
Because here’s the truth – if you can juggle careers, kids, relationships, and a social life, you can absolutely check your tyre pressure. Vehicle maintenance isn’t rocket science; it’s just another life skill worth owning.
Tyres that are over- or under-inflated aren’t just bad for fuel economy- they’re a safety risk. Check your tyre pressure once a month, and always when tyres are cold. Your vehicle’s correct pressure is usually on a sticker inside the driver’s door or in the owner’s manual.
💡 Girl Tip: Think of tyre pressure like your coffee order – get it right, and everything runs smoother.
Rotating your tyres every 8,000–10,000 km helps them wear evenly and last longer. Wheel alignment ensures your car drives straight and saves you from uneven wear.
Your tyre tread is what keeps you gripped to the road, especially in wet conditions. If the tread is too low, your car could skid or aquaplane. Use a R5 coin: if you can see the outer band, it’s time to replace.
💡 Girl Tip: Bald may be bold in fashion, but it’s a no-go for tyres.
Regularly inspect your tyres for cuts, bulges, or embedded objects. Small issues can become dangerous blowouts if ignored.
💡 Girl Tip: A chipped nail is annoying. A chipped tyre is dangerous.
Your spare tyre should be ready to roll when you are. Check it for pressure and damage whenever you check your main tyres.
💡 Girl Tip: A flat spare is like an ex – useless when you really need them.
At Tiger Wheel & Tyre, we believe confidence is just as important as competence when it comes to vehicle safety and we’re here to empower women to take control of their car care in a way that’s approachable, engaging, and judgment-free, because tyre care isn’t a man’s job or a mystery – it’s just another skill to master. So, grab that pressure gauge and get a grip. You’ve got this!

Car drama is like relationship drama – the little things you ignore now can turn into full-blown disasters later. The good news? Your car always gives you clues when something’s not right.
Here’s how to spot them early, so you can stay safe and in control.
Odd sounds are your car’s way of talking to you.
💡 Girl Tip: If your car starts sounding like a bad playlist, get it checked.
Those dashboard warning lights aren’t there for decoration.
💡 Girl Tip: They’re not mood lighting, they’re life-saving signals.
Your car should drive smooth.
💡 Girl Tip: A shaky steering wheel is not a new workout trend.
A quick walk-around your vehicle can save you a lot of money.
💡 Girl Tip: Think of it as your car’s daily outfit check.
You know your car best. If something feels, sounds, or looks off, it probably is.
💡 Girl Tip: Better to book a FREE safety check at Tiger Wheel & Tyre now, than break down on the highway later.
Bottom line: Cars are like best friends. They give you signs when something’s wrong. The sooner you listen, the safer (and cheaper) your drive will be.

Soft life? Yes, please.
Soft tyres? Absolutely not.
Here’s the thing – your tyres are the only part of your car that actually touch the road, and they’re carrying your safety, your passengers, and that boot full of life’s essentials (from gym bags to grocery bags). Keeping them at the right pressure is one of the easiest, quickest, and most important things you can do for your car.
Under-inflated tyres aren’t just a fuel guzzler – they’re a safety hazard. They cause:
💡 Girl Tip: Soft tyres might make for a cushy ride, but they’re silently shortening your tyre life and upping your accident risk.
Too much air isn’t better. It makes tyres hard, reduces grip, and increases the chance of a blowout.
💡 Girl Tip: Think stilettos on ice – all style, no stability.
Correct tyre pressure can improve fuel efficiency by up to 3% meaning more road trips and fewer fuel stops.
Bottom line: Keeping your tyre pressure in check takes less time than finding your keys in your handbag. And it’s one of the simplest ways to protect yourself, your passengers, and your budget.

“In the world of tyres, women aren’t just part of the story – we can drive it.” –
Six years ago, I rolled into the tyre industry ready to make some noise in a space that’s fast-moving, competitive, and (let’s be honest) often seen as a boys’ club. Today, as Marketing Executive for South Africa’s most loved tyre brand, I’m proving that strategy and style can share the same fast lane.
My mission? Make tyre safety less intimidating and a whole lot more empowering. From busting myths about worn vs. new tyres, to showing why quality brands matter, and explaining that a quick wheel alignment can be the difference between “smooth ride” and “swerve city” – we’re all about giving drivers the know-how to stay in control.
This is The Tiger Way: friendly, expert advice, genuine care, and the confidence boost every driver deserves. Whether you’re a first-time car owner or have been racking up miles for decades, we want you leaving our stores with tyres you can trust, wheels balanced to perfection, and the confidence to keep them that way.
The best part of my job? Knowing our work protects lives, builds trust, and proves that in the world of tyres, women aren’t just part of the story – we drive it!

I was born into a family with fuel running through their veins, so it’s no surprise that my life has always revolved around engines, speed, and the thrill of competition. From winning the SA Powerboating Championship at nine years old to claiming national racing titles in motorsport, I’ve never been afraid to push limits.
The automotive industry isn’t always an easy place for a woman — it’s a space still largely dominated by men. But my passion has always outweighed the challenges. Racing taught me resilience, and that same determination drives me in business today as I lead Shelby South Africa, Road to Race SA, and Lindenberg Racing.
One of the projects closest to my heart is the Car Basics Courses, proudly supported by Tiger Wheel & Tyre from day one. This initiative empowers people with the essential knowledge they need about their vehicles, helping to turn what some might call “grudge purchases” into confident, informed decisions. Together, we’re showing the value of choosing the right brands, services, and safety for your car.
For me, confidence comes from knowing you can take on any challenge — whether it’s a sharp corner at full speed or making a decision that keeps you and your passengers safe. Racing will always be my first love, but inspiring and educating others is just as rewarding. I’m looking forward to the road ahead, and I know it’s going to be one worth driving.
