Tiger Wheel & Tyre Opens in Komatipoort, Bringing Expertise and Value to Local Motorists

Tiger Wheel & Tyre has expanded its Mpumalanga footprint with the opening of its Komatipoort store on 23 September 2026, giving local motorists access to trusted tyre expertise, leading brands and added protection for their purchases.

Located at the Shoprite Komatipoort Centre expansion in Rissik Street, the company-owned outlet is Tiger Wheel & Tyre’s 146th store. The opening brings the brand’s established service offering to a town where daily commuting, business travel and journeys to Mozambique and the Kruger National Park keep motorists on the move.

“Customers need sound advice when choosing tyres, and they need to know they’re getting value for their money,” says Chris Farrar, Group Retail Channel Executive. “Our investment in Komatipoort brings that support closer to home. We look forward to earning the community’s trust through professional service, the right products and a team that takes the time to understand each customer’s needs.”

The store offers tyres for passenger vehicles, SUVs and 4x4s, with brands including BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, General Tire, Goodyear, Hankook, Michelin, Pirelli and Yokohama. Customers can also shop for wheels and batteries, and access wheel alignment, balancing, tyre rotation and nitrogen inflation. Free safety checks help motorists identify concerns before their next journey.

Adding value to qualifying tyre purchases is X-Sure ZERO™, free tyre insurance powered by X-Sure®. It provides up to R500 cover per tyre for eligible road hazard damage over six months. Customers must register their purchase on the Tiger Wheel & Tyre app within seven days of the invoice date to activate cover. A 30-day waiting period applies, together with policy terms, conditions and exclusions.

Customers also have access to flexible payment options, including Float and PayJustNow, allowing them to spread the cost of their purchases, subject to each provider’s terms and qualifying requirements.

With a history of serving South African motorists since 1967, Tiger Wheel & Tyre’s arrival in Komatipoort gives the community a convenient new choice for professional tyre care.

The team welcomes motorists to visit Shoprite Komatipoort Centre expansion, Rissik Street, Komatipoort, 1340, or call 013 007 8829.
